6D Offbeat Arunachal Road Trip with Dibang Valley & Anini

Today, we begin a long but scenic drive to Anini, located deep in the Dibang Valley.

The journey takes around 10 to 12 hours, so be prepared for a full day on the road.

The route climbs up to Mayudia Pass, a high-altitude road with wide views of the Eastern Himalayan mountains and deep river valleys.

As we continue, the drive winds through the Dibang Valley, one of India’s most remote and scenic districts.

There will be photography stops and short breaks along the way, giving you time to stretch, click pictures, and enjoy the views.

We will reach Anini by late evening.

Step out to explore Anini town at your own pace.

Walk towards the Dibang River which is incredibly clear and flows through a wide valley framed by forests and steep mountain ridges.

Later, explore nearby villages on foot that are home to the Idu Mishmi tribe, where you may get a chance to observe their daily life up close.

In the evening, head towards a sunset point.

Spend a peaceful evening watching a sunset over the mountains and river valley.

Return to your homestay, enjoy dinner, and relax.

Today depends on the weather, road conditions, and local permissions, as we are going to explore Dibang valley in-depth.

If conditions allow, we will head towards high-altitude regions such as Emuli or Acheso grasslands. (These areas are not always accessible, so plans may change on the ground).

You will pass river valleys, waterfalls, and untouched forest stretches along the way.

There are no tourist facilities here, so carry essentials like water and snacks.

Keep in mind that flexibility is important. Weather changes quickly, and road access can vary.

By evening, return to Anini and call it a night.

Get ready and board the transfers for a return journey to Roing.

The distance is not very long, but the drive takes around 10 to 12 hours due to road conditions.

We will again cross Mayudia Pass, located at a high altitude and known for its wide mountain views and frequent cloud cover.

There will be multiple stops along the way for short breaks, tea, and photography.

Food options are limited on this route, so plan accordingly before departure.

By evening, reach Roing and check in at your homestay.

After breakfast, begin your drive back to Dibrugarh.

The journey takes around 4 to 5 hours and is relatively smoother compared to the mountain stretches.

On the way, you will likely cross the Dhola–Sadiya Bridge, one of the longest bridges in India, connecting Arunachal Pradesh to Assam.

Your amazing Arunachal roadtrip concludes once you are dropped off at Dibrugarh airport/ railway station.
