After your half-day sightseeing, begin the drive towards Punakha through scenic mountain roads and valleys.

Depending on time and weather, you may stop at Dochula Pass, known for its 108 memorial chortens and mountain views on clear days.

Reach Punakha, check into your hotel, and enjoy a quiet evening surrounded by the valley’s natural beauty.

    Overnight stay in Punakha.

    Day 4

Gasa Excursion | Explore Bhutan’s Remote Himalayan Side

Have an early breakfast and set out for Gasa, one of Bhutan’s more remote Himalayan districts, known for its mountain scenery, traditional settlements, and peaceful surroundings.

Enjoy the long drive through winding roads, forested slopes, and rural landscapes that offer a different experience from Bhutan’s more frequently visited towns.

Depending on road conditions and available time, explore the Gasa area and visit Gasa Dzong, a historic fortress associated with the region’s cultural heritage.

If accessible and included in the day’s plan, visit Gasa Tshachu, the natural hot springs known for their traditional bathing pools and mountain setting.

You can spend some time taking in the quiet surroundings and learning about the distinctive highland lifestyle of this part of Bhutan.

Begin the return drive to Punakha. Since Gasa is a remote destination, the excursion can take most of the day, so sightseeing will depend on travel time and local conditions.

Reach your hotel in Punakha and relax after a long day on the road.

    Overnight stay in Punakha.

    Day 5

Punakha Half-Day Sightseeing and Transfer to Paro

Enjoy breakfast and get ready to explore Punakha, a valley known for its riverside landscapes, historic monasteries, and traditional Bhutanese architecture.

Begin with Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most striking fortresses, located at the meeting point of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Explore its courtyards and intricate traditional architecture.

Continue to Punakha Suspension Bridge, which stretches across the river and offers beautiful views of the surrounding hills and valley.

Visit Chimi Lhakhang, also known as the Temple of Fertility. The walk to the temple takes you through village paths and fields, offering a glimpse of rural Bhutanese life.

After sightseeing, begin the drive to Paro, travelling through mountain scenery and winding roads.

On arrival, check into your hotel and spend the evening at leisure. You can explore Paro town, browse its small shops, or enjoy a relaxed dinner.

    Overnight stay in Paro.

    Day 6

Tiger’s Nest Monastery Hike | A Sacred Himalayan Adventure

Start early with breakfast before heading towards the trailhead for the hike to Paro Taktsang, popularly known as Tiger’s Nest Monastery.

Begin the uphill walk through pine forests, prayer flags, and mountain trails as the monastery gradually comes into view across the valley.

Take breaks along the route to catch your breath and enjoy the changing views of the cliffs and surrounding mountains.

The hike generally takes around 4–6 hours for the round trip, depending on your pace and the time spent at the monastery. The trail includes steep sections, so comfortable walking shoes and a reasonable level of fitness are recommended.

After reaching the monastery, explore the sacred complex and admire its dramatic location, perched on a cliff high above the Paro Valley.

Descend carefully and return to Paro town, where you can relax after the trek.

Spend the evening at leisure, perhaps enjoying a warm meal or a short walk around town.

    Overnight stay in Paro.

    Day 7

Chele La Pass Excursion and Transfer to Phuentsholing

Enjoy breakfast and check out before beginning the drive towards Chele La Pass, one of Bhutan’s highest motorable mountain passes.

Travel through forested roads and winding mountain stretches as you climb towards the pass, which sits at an elevation of approximately 3,988 metres.

At Chele La, take in the mountain scenery, colourful prayer flags, and sweeping views on clear days. You may also spot distant Himalayan peaks when visibility is good.

Spend some time enjoying the high-altitude landscape and taking photographs before beginning the onward journey.

Continue towards Phuentsholing. The Chele La detour makes this a particularly long travel day, so the schedule will depend on road conditions, weather, and the time available at the pass.

Arrive in Phuentsholing, check into your hotel, and rest after the drive.

    Overnight stay in Phuentsholing.

    Day 8
