8 Days Japan Backpacking Trip | Tokyo to Osaka with Mt. Fuji

Wake up to a beautiful morning in your hostel in Tokyo.

Enjoy a delicious breakfast and get ready for a full-day tour of Tokyo city.

First, we will visit Sensō-ji Temple, Tokyo’s oldest Buddhist temple, located in the lively Asakusa district and featuring a 5-storey pagoda.

Then, take a leisurely walk around Asakusa Shopping Street, where you can shop for souvenirs and traditional Japanese snacks.

Then, visit TeamLab Planets Tokyo, a digital museum where you will walk through water, where the artwork changes depending on the presence of people.

Here, you can click photos or just soak in the views of the entire Tokyo city.

Further, we will explore the Tokyo Skytree, a broadcasting and observation tower which is also one of the tallest in the world.

Later in the evening, drop off at the Shibuya Crossing, the world's busiest pedestrian intersection, which is designed in the form of a scramble.

It is said that this crossing usually sees around 3000 people crossing this intersection daily.

Return to your hostel after a full day of exploration.

Today, the day is free for you to explore Tokyo at your own pace or simply relax and unwind.

You can choose to visit the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo, where you can step into the magical world of Harry Potter and explore famous movie sets, costumes, and behind-the-scenes experiences.

You can also spend the day at Tokyo Disneyland or DisneySea, enjoying thrilling rides, themed attractions, live performances, and interactive experiences inspired by Disney movies.

Click pictures with your favourite Disney characters and explore the beautifully designed themed zones inside the parks.

For those interested in shopping and local exploration, you can head towards Ginza, one of Tokyo’s most upscale shopping and entertainment districts.

Explore luxury boutiques, Japanese department stores, stylish cafés, and local restaurants while experiencing the modern side of Tokyo.

You can also spend time discovering hidden lanes, gaming arcades, anime stores, or local food markets around the city.

After a relaxed and exciting day, return to your hostel on your own.

Wake up to a fresh morning in Tokyo and enjoy your breakfast at the hostel.

Today, we will transfer towards the beautiful Hakone and Mt. Fuji region for a day filled with scenic landscapes and mountain views.

After reaching Fujikawaguchiko, we will proceed towards the famous Mt. Fuji 5th Station, subject to weather conditions.

Located at an altitude of around 2,300 meters, this viewpoint offers breathtaking panoramic views of Mt. Fuji and the surrounding valleys.

Later, we will visit Lake Kawaguchi, one of the famous Fuji Five Lakes, known for its peaceful atmosphere and stunning reflections of Mt. Fuji during clear weather.

Further, continue your excursion with a thrilling ride on the Hakone Ropeway, offering spectacular aerial views of forests, mountains, and volcanic landscapes.

The ropeway experience is one of the best ways to witness Hakone’s natural beauty from above.

After completing the sightseeing for the day, we will return to Tokyo in the evening.

Post breakfast, complete the check-out formalities and get ready to board your bullet train to Kyoto.

Enjoy a scenic high-speed train journey through Japan’s countryside, passing peaceful towns, rolling hills, and beautiful landscapes along the way.

Upon reaching Kyoto, proceed towards your hostel and complete the check-in formalities.

Spend some time relaxing after your journey before heading out to explore the cultural side of Japan.

In the evening, visit the famous Gion district, known for its preserved wooden streets, traditional teahouses, and old-world atmosphere.

You may also get a chance to witness Geishas and Maikos walking gracefully through the streets dressed in elegant traditional attire.

Later, return to your hostel after a peaceful evening of cultural exploration.

Enjoy breakfast at your hostel and get ready for a full-day tour of Kyoto and Nara.

First, we will visit the famous Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, one of Kyoto’s most scenic attractions, known for its towering bamboo groves and peaceful surroundings.

Next, we will proceed towards the iconic Fushimi Inari Shrine, one of Japan’s most important Shinto shrines, famous for its thousands of vibrant red torii gates.

Later, we will continue towards Nara Deer Park, where hundreds of friendly deer roam freely across the park grounds.

Here, you can interact with the deer, feed them, and take memorable photographs in the peaceful surroundings.

After completing the sightseeing for the day, we will return to Kyoto in the evening.

Wake up to a pleasant morning in Kyoto.

Enjoy breakfast at your hostel and complete the check-out formalities.

We will then board our transfers from Kyoto to Osaka.

Upon reaching Osaka, we will visit the iconic Osaka Castle, one of Japan’s most famous historic landmarks, surrounded by beautiful gardens and massive stone walls.

Further, we will visit the historic Tōdai-ji Temple, known for its impressive wooden architecture and massive bronze Buddha statue.

Later, proceed towards your hostel in Osaka and complete the check-in formalities.

Relax for some time before heading out to explore the vibrant Dotonbori area in the evening.

Known for its bright neon lights, giant signboards, lively streets, and local food culture, Dotonbori is one of Osaka’s most famous entertainment districts.

You can spend time exploring the busy streets, shopping areas, cafés, and local restaurants around the area.

Return to your hostel after an exciting evening in Osaka.
