8 Days Leh to Manali Road Trip | Zanskar Valley Expedition

Have your breakfast in the morning and get ready for the day.

We will then board the transfers to Kargil and visit some prominent landmarks on the way.

We will first stop by the Hall of Fame - a museum constructed in memory of the Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Indo-Pak and Indo-China War.

Next, we will also witness the rare phenomenon at the Magnetic Hill where the natural surroundings create an optical illusion that makes it look like vehicles are rolling uphill.

Further, we will stop at the Sangam Point where the Zanskar and Indus rivers confluence.

On the way, we will also pass through the picturesque town of Lamayuru - known for its moon-like landscape.

Today, we will also pass 2 high altitude passes - Fotu La [4108m] and Namika La [3700m].

Continue the journey to Kargil and check in to the hotel upon reaching.

Have a delicious dinner and rest for the day.

Wake up to a pleasant morning in Kargil and have your breakfast at the hotel.

Get ready to board your transfers as we take you to the scenic Zanskar Valley.

We will hit the roads to Padum - the capital of Zanskar Valley.

Experience the raw beauty of Ladakh as we pass through the magnificent Suru Valley and Pensi La.

We will then take a quick stop at Drang Drung Glacier Viewpoint to marvel at the beauty of the 2nd largest glacier in the region.

By evening, you will reach Padum, where you will check in to your hotel.

Wake up to a chilly morning amidst the scenic raw landscapes of Padum.

Have your breakfast at the hotel and get ready to explore the major landmarks around.

We will start the day by first visiting the Zangla Fort which is said to be built in the 10th century.

Later, we will visit the Stongdey Monastery and marvel at the stunning views of the Zanskar Valley below.

We will then conclude our sightseeing by visiting the stunning Bardan Monastery - a fortress-like monastery on a cliff overlooking the Tsarap River.

We will then return to Padum and spend the rest of the evening at leisure.

You can either explore the town or try the local cuisine at the small restaurants here.

After having your breakfast in the morning, get ready for the day.

Board your transfers and hit the roads as we take you to Purne - a picturesque village located in the Zanskar Valley.

Enjoy the rugged landscapes and the views of snow-clad peaks as you drive along the Tsarap River.

Reach Purne by afternoon, check-in to the hotel/ cottage/ camps and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

OR

Get ready to begin your hike to the Phugtal Gompa which is also known as Phukthar Monastery or the “Honeycomb” monastery.

Phugtal Monastery is one of the most remote monasteries in Zanskar Valley located inside a cave.

To reach this monastery, we will pass the wooden bridges over the Tsarap River and hike on the rugged landscape.

After approximately 2 hours of hiking, you will reach the monastery.

Spend some time exploring this monastery, soaking in the surrounding views, interacting with the monks, meditating, clicking pictures, etc. (Time Required: 1 hours approx)

Later, we will hike back to Purne (approx 2 hours time).

Have your breakfast in the morning and get ready for the day.

Today, you will board your transfers to begin your journey to Jispa - a beautiful village located on the banks of the Bhaga River.

On the way, our first stop will be the scenic small town of Gonbo Rangjon which offers breathtaking views of the famous “God’s Mountain”.

After soaking in the stunning views, we will continue our journey until our next stop at Shinkhu La - a high mountain pass that acts as the natural border between Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh

Reach Jispa by evening and check into your hotel.

Spend the rest of the time at leisure.

Wake up to a pleasant morning in Jispa and have your breakfast at the hotel.

Later, get ready and board your transfers to Manali.

On this scenic drive to Manali, we will pass the picturesque village of Keylong and the scenic town of Sissu.

Further, soak in the beauty of the Solang Valley - a hotspot for adventurous activities.

Reach Manali in the evening and check into your hotel.

Overnight stay in Manali.

Have your breakfast at the hotel in the morning and pack your bags.

You will then board your return transfers to Manali/ Chandigarh.

Your amazing Zanskar adventure comes to an end.
