The Spiti Valley Backpacking Trip then takes you to Tabo Monastery, Dhankar Monastery, Key Monastery, and Chicham Bridge. Spend a day exploring Hikkim, Komic, Langza, and Kaza Market before beginning your return journey through Reckong Peo and Kalpa.

Starting Day

Overnight Journey From Delhi To Shimla

Arrive at the designated boarding point in Delhi by evening and meet our representative.

Board your Volvo bus and begin your women only Spiti Valley group trip from Delhi.

Day 1

Shimla To Sangla | Kinnaur Gate (Distance: Approx. 220 Km)

Arrive in Shimla, freshen up, and begin your journey towards Sangla.

The drive takes you through the charming hill towns of Kufri and Narkanda along the historic Hindustan-Tibet Highway.

Then, stop at the iconic Kinnaur Gate, the rock-cut entrance that welcomes you into the Kinnaur Valley.

By evening, arrive in Sangla, check in, and relax after the long drive.

You can explore the local Sangla Market, known for Kinnauri handicrafts, woollens, dry fruits, and small cafés.

Dinner and overnight stay in Sangla.

Day 2

Sangla To Nako Via Khab Sangam | Chitkul Excursion (Distance: Approx. 165 Km)

Wake up to the fresh mountain air and enjoy breakfast before checking out from Sangla.

Board your vehicle to visit Chitkul, the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibet border (subject to weather and route conditions).

Take a walk through its traditional wooden houses and soak in views of the Baspa River and snow-capped peaks.

Later, reach Khab Sangam, where the Spiti and Sutlej rivers meet amidst dramatic mountain landscapes.

Continue towards Nako, passing through rugged Himalayan terrain and picturesque villages along the way.

Arrive in Nako by evening and settle into your stay.

Dinner and overnight stay in Nako.

Day 3

Nako To Tabo Via Lepcha La (Distance: Approx. 120 Km)

Wake up in Nako and enjoy breakfast amid the high-altitude landscapes of Kinnaur.

Before departure, spend some time at the serene Nako Lake, surrounded by willow trees and mountain views.

Begin your Spiti Valley women only trip towards Tabo through Spiti's rugged mountain terrain.

Pass through Lepcha, the official gateway to Spiti Valley, known for its surreal canyon views and winding roads.

Later, take a detour to Gue Village, home to the naturally preserved 500-year-old mummy of a Buddhist monk (depending on weather and road conditions).

Enjoy spectacular views of barren mountains, deep gorges, and the Spiti River valley along the route.

Arrive in Tabo by afternoon and settle into your hostel.

Overnight stay in Tabo.

Day 4

Tabo To Kaza | Tabo, Dhankar, and Key Monastery & Chicham Bridge (Distance: Approx. 110 Km)

After breakfast, visit the ancient Tabo Monastery, over 1,000 years old and often called the "Ajanta of the Himalayas."

Then, we’ll continue to Dhankar Monastery, dramatically perched on a cliff.

Enjoy panoramic views of the Spiti and Pin River valleys from this historic former capital of Spiti.

Later, head towards Key Monastery, the largest and most iconic monastery in Spiti Valley.

Spend some time exploring its prayer halls, murals, and hilltop setting overlooking the valley below.

Later, we will stop at Chicham Bridge, one of Asia's highest suspension bridges spanning a deep mountain gorge.

Arrive in Kaza, check in to your hostel, and relax after a day of exploration.

Overnight stay in Kaza.

Day 5

Kaza Sightseeing | Hikkim, Komic, Langza & Kaza Market (Distance: Approx. 50 km)

After breakfast, set out to explore some of the world's highest inhabited villages around Kaza.

Visit Hikkim, home to the world's highest post office, and send a postcard from this remote Himalayan village.

Continue to Komic, one of the highest motorable villages in the world, known for its breathtaking mountain setting.

Later, head to Langza, famous for its giant Buddha statue and breathtaking views of Chau Chau Kang Nilda peak.

Take a walk through the village and keep an eye out for marine fossils dating back millions of years.

Return to Kaza by evening and spend some time exploring the local market, cafés, and souvenir shops.

Overnight stay in Kaza.

Day 6

Kaza To Kalpa Via Reckong Peo & Suicide Point (Distance: Approx. 205 Km)

After breakfast, check out and continue your women-only Spiti Valley trip towards Kalpa.

Enjoy a scenic drive through deep gorges, river valleys, and some of the most stunning landscapes in the Himalayas.

Upon arrival, visit Reckong Peo, the commercial hub of Kinnaur, known for its local markets and views of the Kinner Kailash range.

Later, stop at the famous Suicide Point, a narrow cliffside stretch offering breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and mountains.

Reach Kalpa by evening and check in to your hostel.

If the weather is clear, enjoy stunning sunset views over the snow-capped Kinner Kailash peaks.

Overnight stay in Kalpa.

Day 7

Kalpa To Shimla (Distance: Approx. 210 Km) | Overnight Journey To Delhi

Enjoy your breakfast and check out of your hostel.

Board your transfer towards Shimla, passing pine forests, river valleys, and charming hillside towns.

As you arrive in Shimla and enjoy some time to freshen up before your departure.

Later, board your overnight Volvo to Delhi, bringing your women only Spiti Valley group trip to a memorable close.

Last Day

Arrival In Delhi

Reach Delhi by morning and bid farewell to your fellow travelers.

Head home carrying beautiful memories of the cold desert, homestays, road drives, and new friendships made on this women only Spiti Valley group trip.

NOTES:
Travellers residing outside Delhi are suggested to book trains/flights reaching Delhi not later than 4 PM on the trip start date. Similarly, on trip end date, book returning flight/trains leaving post 12 PM.
Numerous factors such as weather, road conditions, the physical ability of participants etc. may cause itinerary change. We reserve the rights to change any schedule in the interest of safety, comfort and general wellbeing.
The age limit of our group departures is 16 to 42 years due to the power packed itineraries that we provide to our travellers. We can customise trips for travellers beyond the mentioned age bracket.
You will be travelling to High Altitude cold desert places of India. It's advisable to consult your personal doctors for any sort of medical awareness before travelling. There are very few medical facilities/hospitals available at such remote locations and WanderOn shall not be responsible for any such of Medical emergency thus occurred. However any kind of support with respect to arranging logistics will be arranged if required and the expenses shall be borne by the clients. Please consult your personal doctor and we advise you to be physically fit and healthy before travelling. Do mention any sort of prior health issues before travelling so that we can advise you correctly.
Dear traveller's In the event of extreme winter conditions, where snow may prevent the use of tempo travellers, we will opt for 4x4 vehicles to ensure safety and accessibility. Please note that any additional costs incurred for the 4x4 vehicle will be borne by the clients. Winter Spiti is known for snowfall, which may lead to route closures. Please be prepared for such adventures, as we will take the best possible alternatives in those situations to ensure a smooth journey.
"To ensure guest comfort during the winter season, each accommodation package includes one complimentary heating amenity: either an electric blanket or a room heater."
Chitkul Excursion is not included for December to March batch dates.
