Itinerary

Day 1
Guwahati to Bhalukpong – Easy Start, Smart Acclimatisation

Arrive at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station and begin your journey towards Bhalukpong, which takes around 5 to 6 hours.

The drive starts flat through Assam but slowly shifts into forested hills as you approach Arunachal Pradesh.

On reaching Bhalukpong, we will complete the Inner Line Permit (ILP) formalities at the Arunachal Pradesh entry gate.

Your trip captain will coordinate this to keep things smooth and quick.

Upon reaching your stay in Arunachal, check in to the hotel and relax for some time.

Later, we will head out for a short walk along the Kameng River, mainly to adjust ourselves to the altitude shift

Spend some time around the river, relaxing and soaking in the beautiful surroundings.

Overnight stay in Bhalukpong.

Day 2
Bhalukpong to Dirang. Orchid Centre | Dirang Monastery | Hot Water Springs

Wake up early in the morning and have your breakfast.

Then, we will get ready and board our transfers for a scenic drive towards Dirang.

Today’s journey covers around 140–180 km and takes approximately 6–7 hours, depending on road conditions.

Our first stop will be at the Tippi Orchid Centre, located along the Kameng River, known for its wide variety of orchid species.

We will then continue driving through the Sessa Orchid Sanctuary belt, where the route itself offers beautiful forest views.

By afternoon, we will reach Dirang and check into the hotel.

After some rest, we will visit Dirang Monastery, a peaceful place overlooking the valley.

Later, you can visit the nearby hot water springs to relax after the long drive.

In the evening, you can spend time with the group, relax, or explore the surroundings at your own pace.

Overnight stay in Dirang.

Day 3
Dirang to Tawang | Sela Pass | Jaswant Garh | Nuranang Falls

Wake up early in the morning and have your breakfast.

We will then begin our journey towards Tawang.

The drive takes around 7–8 hours, depending on road and weather conditions.

Our first major stop will be at Sela Pass, located at an altitude of 13,700 ft and known for its snow-covered surroundings.

We will also visit Sela Lake, famous for its clear waters and scenic beauty.

Next, we will stop at Jaswant Garh War Memorial, dedicated to Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat.

Later, we will visit Nuranang Falls, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Arunachal Pradesh.

By evening, we will reach Tawang and check into the hotel.

The rest of the evening will be at leisure for rest and acclimatization.

Overnight stay in Tawang.

Day 4
Tawang Sightseeing | Monasteries | War Memorial | Leisure Time

After breakfast at the hotel, we will get ready for a relaxed yet culturally rich day exploring Tawang.

We will begin our day with a visit to the Tawang Monastery, the largest monastery in India, located at an altitude of around 10,000 ft.

Next, we will head to the Urgelling Monastery, the birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama, located a short drive from Tawang town.

Later, we will visit the Tawang War Memorial, built in honour of the soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the 1962 Indo-China War.

In the afternoon, you will have time at leisure.

You can explore the local market, visit nearby cafés, try Tibetan cuisine, or simply walk around the town and take in the atmosphere.

By evening, we will regroup and return to the hotel.

Overnight stay in Tawang.

Day 5
Bum La Pass Excursion | Madhuri Lake | PTSO Lake

After an early breakfast at the hotel, we will get ready for a high-altitude excursion towards the Indo-China border.

We will begin our drive towards Bum La Pass, located at an altitude of around 15,200 ft.

This route requires a special permit and is completely dependent on weather and road conditions.

Upon reaching Bum La Pass, we will spend some time near the border area, interacting with army personnel (subject to permission).

On our way back, we will visit Sangetsar Lake (Madhuri Lake), formed after an earthquake and known for its hauntingly beautiful landscape.

We will also stop at PTSO Lake, a serene high-altitude lake known for its deep blue waters and surrounding mountain views.

By late afternoon or evening, we will return to Tawang.

The rest of the evening will be at leisure to relax.

Overnight stay in Tawang.

Day 6
Tawang to Bomdila | Bomdila Monastery | Sunset View

After breakfast at the hotel, we will get ready to begin our journey towards Bomdila.

We will drive from Tawang to Bomdila, covering around 170–180 km in approximately 7 to 8 hours, depending on road and weather conditions.

As we descend, we will once again cross Sela Pass, located at an altitude of about 13,700 ft, connecting Tawang with the rest of Arunachal Pradesh.

By evening, we will reach Bomdila and proceed to the hotel check-in.

Later, we will visit the Bomdila Monastery, known for its peaceful surroundings and panoramic views of the Himalayan ranges.

We will then head to a nearby viewpoint to enjoy sunset views over the valley.

After sightseeing, we will return to the hotel.

Overnight stay in Bomdila.

Day 7
Bomdila to Guwahati | Return Journey

After an early breakfast at the hotel, we will get ready for our return journey to Guwahati.

We will drive from Bomdila to Guwahati, covering approximately 300–320 km in around 8 to 9 hours, depending on road and traffic conditions.

We will pass through Bhalukpong, where exit formalities for Arunachal Pradesh are completed, before continuing.

We will take multiple breaks along the way for meals, tea, and to relax during this long journey.

By evening, we will reach Guwahati and proceed to check in at the hotel.

The rest of the evening will be at leisure after the drive.

Overnight stay in Guwahati.

Day 8
Departure from Guwahati | Take Back Happy Memories

After breakfast at the hotel, we will get ready for departure.

You will be transferred to Guwahati Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey.

If time permits, you can visit Kamakhya Temple or enjoy a short Brahmaputra river cruise (on your own).

Your amazing Arunachal Roadtrip with Tawang concludes once you are dropped off for your onwards journey.

Additional Costs due to Flight Cancellations, Landslides, Roadblocks, and other natural calamities.

A security deposit of Rs. 5,000/- per motorbike. As per the deposit policy, this amount is refundable if there is no damage or spare parts used by the end of the trip. The Amount will be refunded within 5 Working Days.
