Overview & Highlights
One of the most unexplored regions of Ladakh, Zanskar holds beauty that lies beyond the eyes of the beholder. Our journey begins in Manali before we enter Lahaul valley the next day! A halt at Lahaul and a day to relax- calls for camping!
Moving ahead in our Journey to reach Zanskar, we take the offbeat road and cross Shinkula pass, situated at the height of 5,091 m.
In Zanskar, The No. 1 destination on our list is to experience the Phuktal Gompa, a beautiful institute perched in the mountains. We trek for a while to reach here.
Our ride continues from Padum and we head to Kargil after visiting the raw and mesmerising Shela waterfall! On our journey, we also explore the Sani village, head to Pensi La Pass and Rangdum Monastery!
From Kargil, we head to Leh, locally explore the city and it’s famous gems. And a trip to Ladakh isn’t complete until we ride across the highway of Manali-Leh! Cross passes, valleys and plains to reach Manali.

Itinerary
Leave from Delhi at 06:30 P.M. and reach Manali the next morning.
Check in to the hotel and relax for a while before heading out.
Go on a touristy spree and explore the famous landmarks of Manali- Hadimba Devi Temple, Jogini falls, Vashisth Temple and stroll on the Mall Road.
In the evening, go cafe hopping in Old Manali and try out various cuisines.
Overnight stay in Manali
Post breakfast, get ready to transfer to Jispa via the Atal Tunnel, World’s Highest Tunnel above 10,000 ft.
Check into the camps and relax for the entire evening.
Enjoy the night under a million stars covering the Lahaul Valley!
Overnight stay in Jispa
Today, we take the offbeat road to enter the Zankar Valley.
Starting from Jispa, cross the Shingo La Pass, at the height of 5,091m. It is also known as Shinku La and is one of the connecting pass between Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh.
On this journey, you also get to spot the Mt Gonbo Rangjom and Kargyak, a village situated and isolated at the height of 4200m!
Dinner and overnight stay in Purne
Post breakfast, we get ready to visit one of the most isolated and uniquely located monastery Of Phugtal .
Perched on a mountain, we trek for a minimum of an hour (per side) to reach this magnificent location.
From Purne, we depart for Padum.
After reaching Padum we will first visit Karsha Gompa in the evening.
Later check-in to the hotel and rest.

Today, we cross the pass of Pensi to reach our destination- Kargil.
Enroute, we visit Sani Village, which is believed to be oldest religious site of not only Zanskar but Ladakh in general.
We also visit Rangdum monastery in the heart of Suru Valley
Reach Kargil by evening, check in to your hotel.
Dinner and overnight stay
A long day awaits us as we plan to cross various passes and landmarks to reach Leh.
Drive to the top of Namik La and Fotu La as well as Lamayuru and Mublek to reach Leh.
On the way, visit the Pathar Sahib Gurudwara and witness the magical confluence of Indus and Zanskar.
Reach Leh by evening, check in to your hotel and relax for a while.
Dinner and overnight stay in Leh.
After breakfast in the morning, head to Nubra Valley via Khardung-La(Highest motorable road at 5359 mt).
Nubra Valley is popularly known as Ldorma or the valley of flowers. It is situated to the north of Ladakh between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas.
Check in to the hotel and visit the Sand Dunes (cold deserts of India), take a camel safari (self-paid).
After breakfast check out, start your journey to the famous Pangong Tso via the Agam and Shyok villages.
Pangong Tso which is perhaps one of the most amazing lakes in Asia changes its color 4 – 5 times a day.
The Pangong Lake or “lake of the great hollow” is considered as the largest lake in Asia.
The water is clearer though salty. The Crystal-clear salty water shines in many shades of blue depending upon its depth.
It literally changes shades with sunlight. With a backdrop of mountains of various hues and colors, it is a sight for the Gods. At an elevation of 4300 meters, the air is cool even in summers at Ladakh.
Pangong Lake is about 4 km wide on average and at least 136 Km long. The extent of the known portion is, therefore, upwards of 250 square miles (400 sq. km).
Reach Pangong Lake & check in to the campsite.
Dinner & sleep overnight.
Wake up early morning to witness a mesmerizing sunrise.
After having breakfast, head back to Leh.
Enroute visit Chang-La, the 2nd highest motorable road in the world at 5350 m.
Reach by evening time and explore the local market/cafe’s since it will the last day in Leh.
Shop something for your friends/relatives back home.
Come back to the hotel by evening.
Dinner and sleep overnight.
Post breakfast, get ready to drive across the most famous highway of India- Leh to Manali.
Ride through the 30 km stretch of Moore Plains.
Cross the passes of Lachung La and Nakee La.
Glide through the Gata Loops- 21 hairpin bends at the height of 4669m.
Reach the camps at Search by evening.
Dinner and overnight stay in Sarchu.
Post breakfast, continue your journey on the Leh- Manali highway.
