Indian Railways Key Updates After Budget 2025
- They will make 350 modern trains: 100 Amrit Bharat, 50 Namo Bharat, and 200 new Vande Bharat trains.
- These trains will have both sleeping cars and chair cars.
- Additionally, 17,500 basic train coaches will be made (non-AC sleeper and general class).
- This will help more people travel by train, especially those who can’t afford expensive tickets.
- The whole project will take 2-3 years to complete.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw says these new trains and coaches will make train travel better across India. He further announced that for every 3 non-AC coaches, 2 will be manufactured and for every 3 AC coaches, 1 will be manufactured. A new program has started to make more general coaches available across India.
