An official Satish Kumar informed that these 360 Mauni Amavasya trains including 190 special trains will run continuously at an interval of 4 minutes to avoid inconvenience.
A huge number of religious pilgrims are bathing in the holy waters at Triveni Sangam. According to the UP government, 17.5 million people took their snans by 6 AM on Wednesday. In total, 199.4 million people have taken these sacred dips up until January 28, 2025.
The state’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took to X (formerly Twitter) and asked devotees to follow the official safety guidelines. He said people can still take holy dips at all Sangam bathing spots and asked people not to believe rumors.
This message was posted after a stampede happened at the Maha Kumbh gathering early Wednesday. While some people were hurt, an official confirmed that it wasn’t a major incident and injured people are getting medical care.
Meanwhile, the Akhara groups have changed their plans. They will take their holy bath (Amrit Snan) later today i.e. On 29, Jan 2025, when there are fewer people at the bathing spots, instead of cancelling it completely.
While the addition of special trains is commendable, it is important to note that devotees visiting Maha Kumbh need to follow the safety instructions strictly to stay safe.
