It is an artificial freshwater lake built between 1652 and 1680 by Maharana Raj Singh. The lake is very big, covering 155 square kilometres. It is a great place for a picnic. 

Unlike many tourist spots, Badi Lake is usually quiet and peaceful because not many tourists go there. This makes it a nice place to relax.

Near Badi Lake, there is a hill called “Bahubali”. It is a popular spot for visitors. From the top of this hill, you can see amazing views of the area. It is a great place to go if you want some quiet time alone or with friends. The hill is especially famous for its beautiful views of the sunrise and sunset.

Maharana Raj Singh tried to build a lake called Badi near Udaipur city between 1652 and 1680. He wanted to help the city during drought times. He named the lake Jiyan Sagar after his mother, Jan Devi. 

In 1973, when it was very dry, the lake provided water to the people of Udaipur. When the lake was full, it was very helpful to the city. People also started using the water for business reasons later on.
