Let’s start with the most asked question, “do Indians need visa for Bali?” Yes, Indian citizens visiting Bali country Indonesia, for up to 30 days need to get a visa when they arrive, called Visa on Arrival(VOA). This visa can be extended for another 30 days by going to a Local Immigration Office in Indonesia. Remember that only the Directorate General of Immigration can approve visas. When extending, you can choose a visa type that matches the reason for your travel.

What Is Visa-On-Arrival?

When Indian citizens visit Bali country, Indonesia, they need to get a Visa-on-Arrival that lets them stay for up to 30 days. You have two simple options:

  1. Get the visa when you arrive in Bali. Or,
  2. Apply online for an e-VOA at least 14 days before your Bali trip. It would cost you around ₹2665/- approximately.

The VOA option is highly recommended as it saves time at the immigration counter and ensures a smoother arrival experience when you reach Bali country Indonesia.

2. B211A Single Entry Visa

Categories That Cover B211A Single Entry Visa: If you’re on a short trip to Bali for attending family and friends, meetings, and conferences. (Similar to B1 VOA)

  • No. Of Days You Can Stay: 60 days + you can extend for another 180 days
  • Visa Validity: 90 days
  • No. Of Entries: Single entry
  • Approx Fees: ₹7,994/-

3. D212 - Multiple Entry Visa

Categories That Cover D212 - Multiple Entry Visa: You can visit for social and cultural activities, meetings, and exhibitions, multiple times.

  • No. Of Days You Can Stay: 60 days per visit
  • Visa Validity: 1, 2, or 5 years
  • No. Of Entries: Multiple entries
  • Approx Fees: ₹76,920/-( for 5 years), ₹30,768-(for 2 years), ₹15,384/-(for 1 year)

4. Business Visa

Categories That Cover Business Visa: This visa is applicable only for business activities like attending conferences, and meetings.

  • No. Of Days You Can Stay: 60 days per visit
  • Visa Validity: 1, 2, or 5 years
  • No. Of Entries: Multiple entries

Do We Need Transit Visa For Bali?

Transit visas aren't needed for Bali if you're just changing planes and staying in the airport transit area. However, if you want to leave the airport during your layover, Indian citizens must get a Visa on Arrival (VOA). Your transit requirements depend on your layover length, nationality, and whether you exit the airport. Bali Visa Requirements (Documents)

Below are the Bali Visa requirements for VOA:

  1. The passport should be valid for at least 6 months after you return from Bali.

  7. Financial statement letter (optional)
  8. For non-passport holders: Travel documents valid for at least 12 months

How To Apply Visa For Bali

  1. To apply for a Bali visa, you need to gather several important documents. First, make sure your passport is valid for 6-18 months (depending on your visa type), bank statements to prove you have sufficient funds, confirmed flight tickets showing your departure before your visa expires, and proof of accommodation such as hotel bookings.
  2. Choose how to apply. Get visa on arrival (VOA) at the airport, or save time by applying online first.
  3. Pay the fee. You can pay online if you applied for E-VOA, or pay at the immigration/embassy.
  4. Wait for approval. Generally, Visa-free and VOA get immediate approval. And E-VOA gets approved in hours. Other/long term visas can take several weeks.
  5. Once approved, collect the visa. For visa-free and VOA visas, you need to collect at the airport immigration. Other visas can be picked up at the embassy or downloaded online.

Note: For KITAS (long-term visa), you need to visit the immigration office, give fingerprints and a photo, and then collect your card.
