Best time to visit Zurich? Honestly depends on what you're after. Summer's the obvious choice. June to August gives you warm days, the lake is actually swimmable, and everyone's outside having a good time. It's peak season, so you won't be alone when you're out exploring the city.

Winter's completely different. December to February is snow, Christmas markets with mulled wine, and the Alps right there in the background. It's chilly, maybe -2°C some days, but that's the fun of it. Spring is hit-or-miss with rain, but May is when things get pleasant again.

September and October, though, that's when smart people go. Still warm enough for a jacket and coffee outside, half the price, and nobody shoving past you at the Bahnhofstrasse.

The best time to go Zurich depends on whether you want the full summer buzz or something more relaxed. Both work fine. Can't deal with the planning? Our Europe Tour Packages sort the boring stuff out for you.
