How To Reach The Cham Island Vietnam
The government of Vietnam has taken some sustainability measures to preserve the ecosystem which is why if you want to reach the islands you must first arrive at either Hoi An or Da Nang.
1. Hoi An To Cham Island
If you’re in Hoi An and want to travel to Cham Island then you should first go to the Cua Dai Port which is located 18 km away. From there, you have the choice of travelling from either a speedboat or a wooden boat.
Taking A Speedboat
Also one of the top adventure activities in Vietnam, the speedboat is one of the most thrilling ways to reach your destination and takes just a mere time of 15-20 minutes. The perfect kind of transportation for those who are there with a time constraint or want to get some adrenaline rush. You can easily plan your trip to this island as the boat departs two times in a day. Departing at 9 AM and returning at 2 PM.
Taking A Wooden Boat
This is more of a slow transportation but one which allows you to fully take advantage of the surroundings around you. Starting from the same port, this mode of transportation takes around 2-3 hours to reach the island. One major advantage of this is that the boats can easily fit a large number of passengers. And can even carry motorbikes.
The wooden boats however operate just once a day. Departing at 8:30 AM and returning to Hoi An at 1 PM.
One major disadvantage is that you’ll be spending a lot of time on the water, so if you are seasick then this might not be the ideal mode of transportation for you.
2. Da Nang To Cham Island
Da Nang is located at a distance of 48 kilometres from the island, so if you’re in Da Nang, then you’ll have to travel to Hoi An and take a boat from the Cua Dai Port.
