Champaran has a religious significance as the birthplace of Jagadguru Mahaprabhu Vallabhacharya, the reformer and founder of the Vallabh Sect also known as Pushtimarg.
Champaranya temple is built in honour of Jagadguru Mahaprabhu Vallabhacharya, the founder of the Vallabh sect. There are two temples dedicated to Shri Mahaprabhuji Prakatya Baithakji Mandir and Chhatti Baithak.
A small stream flowing beside Champaran Temple Raipur is worshipped as River Yamuna.
