A devastating cloudburst in Uttarakhand has once again exposed the region’s extreme vulnerability to natural calamities. On August 5, 2025, a particularly intense cloudburst in Uttarkashi triggered large-scale flash floods and landslides in the Dharali village area, located along the Gangotri pilgrimage route. As per official reports, this marks the third confirmed cloudburst in Uttarkashi this monsoon season.
