Delhi Airport Flight Operations Restrictions Till Jan 26 Updates

India is getting ready to celebrate its 76th Republic Day in New Delhi. The Delhi Airport flight schedule January has been modified due to security preparations. Practice runs for the main parade are happening on Kartavyapath Road leading to Delhi Airport flight operations restrictions till Jan 26. This is affecting flight operations Delhi Airport for both domestic and international travel.

“As per the NOTAM issued for Republic Day from 19th to 26th Jan, no flights would be arriving or departing from Delhi Airport between 10:20 am to 12:45 pm IST. For updated flight information, passengers are requested to get in touch with the concerned Airline” Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) posted on X. 

Practice sessions for the Republic Day parade are now underway in Delhi. To help these rehearsals run smoothly, Delhi’s traffic police issued an advisory on different routes. 

  • Several key roads in central Delhi are closed for parade practice. These include Kartavyapath’s crossings at Rafi Marg, Janpath, Mansingh Road, and C-Hexagon. 
  • The roads will be closed from 10:15 AM to 12:30 PM each day from January 17 to January 21. Drivers are asked to use other routes during these times.

Delhi Police has asked all drivers to be careful and patient on the roads by following the rules. Additionally, Delhi Police has banned all drones and similar flying devices in the city’s airspace

from January 18 and continues until February 1. The ban is ordered by Police Chief Sanjay Arora. 

The police ban includes many types of flying devices like

  • Paragliders
  • Hang gliders
  • Drones (UAVs)
  • Remote-controlled aircraft
  • Hot air balloons
  • Quadcopters
  • Para-jumping from aircraft

It is also said that these elements could cause risk to important people attending the celebrations. Anyone caught breaking Delhi Airport Republic Day rules will be punished under section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) law. The ban applies to both small and large flying devices, whether they have a pilot or are controlled from the ground.
