Delhi to Leh: HRTC Buses Resume After 9 Months

As the summer has arrived, Leh is ready to welcome its tourists with open arms since India’s highest altitude and most extended bus service is ready to return after being closed for nine long months.

This route remains closed during the winter for nine months and opens only during the tourist season. This route connects the country’s capital with Manali via Leh.

It is the same road that goes through Keylong in Lahaul Spiti.

These state-run Himachal Pradesh Road Transport(HRTC) buses start from Delhi at 3:45 pm.

The journey takes 30 hours to complete, approximately 1026 km, with a one-way fare of 1736 INR per person.

You can book the tickets online from Delhi to Keylong, and the tickets for further journey can be booked at the HRTC ticket counter in Keylong itself.

On the way, you will come across several essential mountain passes, such as Rohtang Pass, Baralacha Pass, Lachungla, and Tanglangla, with picturesque mountain views. The journey is the longest yet most beautiful in the country.
