2. Dubai Mall

Dubai Mall is another iconic attraction in Downtown Dubai and is said to be the largest mall in the world for shopping, dining, and entertainment. 

The Dubai Mall has a total of 1200 shopping outlets including International brands such as Bloomingdales, Gucci, Armani, Dolce Gabbana, Dior, Chanel, and the list goes on. There are 200 eating outlets because the mall is massive and you are surely going to get tired and hungry, and that is when these eating outlets come to your rescue, where you can enjoy fine dining with your friends and family with some drool-worthy cuisines. 

The Dubai Mall is also home to an indoor Aquarium and underwater zoo, which is a major attraction inside the mall, attracting tourists from different corners of the world to witness thousands of marine creatures up close without having to get inside the water.

3. Dubai Fountain

Downtown Dubai boasts of the world’s tallest choreographed fountain, located next to Burj Khalifa. 

Being the tallest choreographed fountain in the world, Dubai Fountain is situated on the 30-acre Burj Lake. The fountain rises up to 900 when operational, which is equal to the two large football fields. 

The fountain has been designed in a very unique style, and the five fountains are in five different sizes with powerful nozzles that shoot water up to 900 feet, which is a sight to behold. It is undoubtedly an architectural marvel with 6600 WET lights that come in a range of 25 colour projectors, creating a visual spectrum of 1000 different water expressions. 

The Dubai Fountain in Downtown Dubai dances to contemporary, Arabic, and Emirati Music, putting up an entertaining show. The show starts after 6 pm every evening and operates every 30 minutes, and while the fountain is operational, 22000 gallons of water stays in the air at any point in time. 

If you wish to witness the Dubai Fountain up close, you can take the boat ride to Burj Lake for the amazing views.

Things To Do In Downtown Dubai

There are plenty of things to do in Downtown Dubai including strolling through the residential localities, exploring the insides of the Burj Khalifa after buying a ticket and watching the magical views from the observation deck.

How To Get To Downtown Dubai

  • Dubai Metro: Take the Dubai Metro’s Red line, and get off the metro at the Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall station. You can take the air-conditioned walkway all the way to Dubai Mall. 
  • Buses: If you wish to take a bus then there are RTA buses which serve the Downtown Dubai Route. You can take the services 27, 28, 29, 30, and 81 to reach Downtown Dubai.
  • By Car: Downtown Dubai is easily accessible by the Sheikh Zayed Road(E11) and the Al Khail Road(E44).
