Mir further said that sports events have usually been dominated by men, whether cricket or other tournaments, and only a few opportunities have been given to women. New talent was discovered when these girls were encouraged to leave their homes and join this race. 35 girls are being selected for training, so they can be prepared for national and international competitions.

Madiha Farooq, a competitor in all women boat race at Srinagar stated, “I am very happy to be part of this unique event in the Valley. With over 100 participants, three girls emerged as winners. I hope we see more events like this because sports are essential for girls.”
The top three winners got special prizes, while every racer received a certificate and a money prize.
