Kashmir women boat race makes history. For the first time, more than 150 women competed in a boat race on Kashmir’s Dal Lake. The Dal Lake women boat race was a big step forward for women in sports in the region. Bilquis Mir, a well-known sports leader, and India’s first Olympic judge has organised the event. “This is a historic day”, Mir said.

Mir further said that sports events have usually been dominated by men, whether cricket or other tournaments, and only a few opportunities have been given to women. New talent was discovered when these girls were encouraged to leave their homes and join this race. 35 girls are being selected for training, so they can be prepared for national and international competitions.

The Dal Lake women boat race showed that women can excel in sports that they weren’t usually part of before. This women boat race in Kashmir also inspired young girls who watched the race to think about trying water sports themselves.

Madiha Farooq, a competitor in all women boat race at Srinagar stated, “I am very happy to be part of this unique event in the Valley. With over 100 participants, three girls emerged as winners. I hope we see more events like this because sports are essential for girls.”

35 Young Athletes Chosen For Special Training

After the historic all women boat race at Srinagar, 35 talented girls were picked for special sports training. They will be prepared to compete in big events across India and other countries.

The top three winners got special prizes, while every racer received a certificate and a money prize.

This women boat race in Kashmir has done more than just making history —– it’s changing how people think about women in sports in Kashmir. More girls are now expected to join sports, breaking stereotypes.

In Ladakh, find the perfect blend of culture, adventure, and serenity. December last year I decided that my next trip would be Ladakh but didn’t know how to go about it. I knew I wanted to travel in a group, as I had prior experiences of traveling in a group but wanted an organiser I could trust. Ladakh isn’t like other destinations wherein you need some instructions due to the high altitudes.

After an amazing trip to Tirthan with WanderOn, I decided to go to Manali-Jispa with them and yet again, the experience was worth every penny. The place was very beautiful and the quality of service was top-notch, the itinerary was very good and the quality of transportation and stays were very good. Had an awesome time there and made some good friends as well. Lastly, our trip captains Priyasha and Rachit managed the entire trip very well and were so fun and made our trip an experience worth remembering.
