With an elevation between 400 to 2,200 meters, there’s always something new to see as you explore. Located in Southern Bhutan, it even shares part of its area with Assam, India, where a sanctuary of the same name exists.
And if you thought the scenery was the main attraction, wait till you meet its wild residents! Khaling Wildlife Sanctuary is home to some rare and interesting animals like the tiny Pygmy Hog, the shy Hispid Hare, Elephants, and the strong Gaur, along with many other tropical animals. It might be one of Bhutan’s smallest sanctuaries, but it’s full of wildlife and natural beauty that’s definitely worth adding to your Bhutan tour packages!
While the sanctuary is open year-round, the summer months can be warmer and more humid, and the monsoon season (June to September) may bring heavy rains, making some areas difficult to access.
