  • By Airways  

To understand how to reach Mawkdok Dympep Valley by air, the nearest airport is Shillong Airport (Umroi), located around 55 km away. Many travelers also prefer to arrive at Guwahati airport (144 km) as it has better connectivity with major Indian cities. From the airport, you can hire a taxi or take a private vehicle to the valley.  

  • By Railways  

If traveling by train, Guwahati Railway Station is the closest, about 123 km away. From there, you can take a cab or board a bus to Shillong and then proceed to the valley.  

  • By Roadways  

How to reach Mawkdok Dympep Valley by road? Regular buses and shared taxis operate from Shillong and Cherrapunji to the viewpoint. The scenic drive makes it an enjoyable journey!  

Best time to visit Mawkdok Dympep

The best time to visit Mawkdok Dympep is between October and March when the weather is pleasant, and the skies are clear. During this time, you can fully enjoy the breathtaking views from this must-visit viewpoint in Meghalaya.  

If you love lush greenery and waterfalls, the monsoon in Meghalaya (June to September) is also a great time. The valley comes alive with vibrant colors and mist-covered hills, making it one of the best viewpoint near Cherrapunji. However, heavy rains can make travel a bit challenging.
