Bihar government plans to build metro connectivity between Patna Junction and Patna Airport. RITES company(Rail India Technical and Economic Service Limited) has been chosen to study and plan the new Patna airport connectivity to enhance transportation options.

This Patna Junction to Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport Metro will connect with the existing 28-km metro route that runs between Danapur-Khemni Chak and Patna Station-Patliputra Bus Terminal. Bihar's Urban Development Minister Nitin Nabin announced this on Sunday.

Nitin Nabin further said that RITES will create two important documents: a study to check if the project is workable, and a detailed construction plan. The company was chosen about ten days ago to work on this project, which will use Nehru Path to connect the airport. At Patna Junction, passengers will be able to switch between different metro lines easily.

Patna Junction To Patna Airport Metro Project Key Updates

  1. The consultant's report on the new airport metro line will be ready in two months.
  2. The study will look at important factors like soil testing, how to work around government buildings, and how to protect old buildings and water areas.
  3. They'll also plan which parts of the track should be elevated or underground.
  4. The government has set aside less than Rs 5 crore for making the detailed plan for the Patna Metro.
  5. Meanwhile, a key section of the metro system is set to open by August 15, 2025. This 6.49-km elevated stretch is part of Corridor II, running from Patna Junction to the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT).
  6. It will have five stations: Malahi Pakri, Khemnichak(Interchangeable), Bhoothnath, Zero Mile, and ISBT.
  7. Construction is moving ahead quickly on Patna's metro project, with 80% of the work done on the main corridor.
  8. The metro depot near ISBT station completed 85%. Located at Ramachak Bairiya, this large depot covers 76 acres and should be ready by March. Workers have already started laying train tracks here. A company from Bengaluru has been chosen to build the trains for this route.
  9. When the metro opens in August, four stations will start running first: Malahi Pakri, Bhoothnath, Zero Mile, and ISBT.
  10. The Khemnichak station is facing some delays due to land issues, drainage problems, and heavy traffic, but should open by October, according to engineers.
  11. The metro depot will be a modern facility, using 47.4 acres of its land for maintenance buildings.

In Ladakh, find the perfect blend of culture, adventure, and serenity. December last year I decided that my next trip would be Ladakh but didn’t know how to go about it. I knew I wanted to travel in a group, as I had prior experiences of traveling in a group but wanted an organiser I could trust. Ladakh isn’t like other destinations wherein you need some instructions due to the high altitudes.
