Before diving into the attractions, let’s take a quick look at how Odaiba Island came to be. Originally constructed in the 1850s as a series of fortifications to protect Tokyo from naval attacks, the island was named “daiba,” which means “fort” in Japanese. For many years, it remained a quiet, industrial area with little development.

In the 1990s, however, everything changed. The Japanese government launched an ambitious project to transform Odaiba into a futuristic urban space with residential, commercial, and entertainment facilities. Today, it stands as a symbol of Tokyo’s modernity and innovation, attracting millions of visitors each year.
