Man, we just can't believe that day we drove up to Peer Ki Gali last summer! You’re missing out if you haven't been to this little-known place in Kashmir yet. The locals have all these tales about the saint the pass was named after, and sitting up there in those huge mountains, you can see why they think it's sacred.
The ride up there? Worth it! The road winds along through these crazy views - one minute you're driving through thick pine forests, the next minute you're staring at wildflowers as far as the eye can see. Depending on when you go, you may have snow or foliage, but it's beautiful either way.
When charting out places to visit in Kashmir, for sure, add this to your list. Believe us, it's less busy than the normal tourist destinations but equally as lovely.

Let’s begin by knowing about Peer ki Gali. The name “Peer ki Gali” means “The Saint’s Pass.” It is named after a Sufi saint, Sheikh Ahmed Karim, who is believed to have meditated in this area. Because of this, the place is not only beautiful but also has spiritual value. A small shrine built in his memory still stands at the pass and attracts visitors and locals.
The pass is located at around 11,500 feet above sea level and offers beautiful views of the Pir Panjal mountain range. This is one of the highest points on the Mughal Road and remains covered in snow for many months of the year. When the snow melts, the area becomes green, and the fresh mountain breeze fills the air.
