You can expect to spend around 6 to 8 hours on the trek, depending on how many breaks you take to catch your breath or snap a few photos for Instagram. The path goes through thick forests, peaceful meadows, and steep slopes—because what’s a hike without some challenging hills to climb? Keep an eye out for wildlife too! You might spot colorful birds, pretty butterflies, or small animals wondering why you’re sweating so much.
So lace up your hiking boots, pack a snack (you’ll need the energy!), and get ready to enjoy the stunning beauty of Meghalaya. Just remember, the only thing that should be blooming more than the rhododendrons is your sense of adventure!
Another good time to visit is in the fall, from September to November. The weather is cooler, and the air is fresh after the rains. While you might not see the rhododendron blooming during this time, the views are still beautiful, with clear skies and a chance to see more wildlife.
