This initiative has been taken to boost the country’s tourism and recover from the impact on tourism caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
So far, some European countries, including Sweden, Finland, Italy, France, Germany, and Denmark, have been enjoying visa-free travel to Vietnam, and now it is being extended to Indian tourists, considering the recent increase in the number of Indian tourists in the country.
Before the pandemic hit the world, Vietnam had hosted approximately 17000 Indian tourists which is proof of the growing popularity of the country among Indian tourists.
Vietnam also facilitated easier entries for travellers by introducing E-Visas with 90 days validity, allowing multiple entries.
Only recently, Thailand went visa-free, as well as Sri Lanka is also allowing visa-free entries to boost tourism. This move by Vietnam will bring more tourists to the country, eventually leading to the growth of tourism in the country.
