Earthquake In Delhi NCR And Bihar Exclusive Updates: Two earthquakes in North India terrified people early Monday morning. Delhi-NCR experienced a 4.0 magnitude earthquake around 5:30 am, followed by another shake in Bihar at 8 am. People living in tall buildings in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad hurried outside their homes for safety.
The earthquake in Delhi happened at 5:36 am. Officials said its centre was near Durgabai Deshmukh College in Dhaula Kuan, about 5 km below ground. No one was hurt and no buildings were damaged.
At the New Delhi train station, a seller named Anish said, "Everything was moving, and people began to yell."
A person waiting for a train at New Delhi station shared, "I was sitting in the waiting area when everyone ran out. It felt like a bridge had fallen down."
Amit, who lives in Noida, said, "At 5:35 am, our entire building was moving. My whole family ran outside. I've never felt such strong shaking from an earthquake before. Everyone is okay."
Delhi Police took to X, stating “We hope you all are safe, Delhi !”. The police urged people to dial 112 for emergency.
PM Modi Asked People To stay Calm And Follow Safety Steps
"Shaking was felt in Delhi and nearby areas. I ask everyone to stay calm, follow safety steps, and watch for possible smaller shakes afterward. Officials are watching the situation closely," he wrote on X.
