Electric Ferry Boat Between Mumbai And Jawaharlal Nehru Port From 2025
Eco-Friendly Electric Ferries: A New Era In Mumbai’s Water Transport
Each ferry is built using strong, special plastic materials and is 12 metres long. They can move at speeds up to 12 knots and carry 20-24 people per trip.
The Ferries Will Run On Rwo Routes:
- From Gateway of India to JNP in good weather, and
- From Bhaucha Dhakka to JNP during rough weather.
This means people can use the service all year round.
The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority’s JNPA electric ferry launch marks a significant step towards cleaner transport. The quiet, clean electric ferries will replace older, polluting boats. When they start running in January 2025, people will enjoy faster, more comfortable trips while helping protect the environment. It’s a big step forward for India towards earth-friendly transport.
