With the Pune-Mumbai expressway tourist rush, traffic police jump into action as massive traffic hits Khandala Ghat. A 10-12 km backup developed on the Mumbai-Pune route starting Wednesday, with tourist vehicles stuck for hours. According to the latest Pune Mumbai expressway traffic updates, police blocked heavy vehicles and redirected Mumbai traffic to Pune lanes to help clear the jam. Despite these efforts, Mumbai traffic queues remained lengthy.
Frustrated commuters took to social media to share their experiences, with many reporting delays of more than two hours. A high number of private vehicles heading to tourist spots in Kolhapur, Panchgani, and the Konkan region contributed to the massive backup.
Police urged travellers to carefully plan their journeys over the next 10 days to avoid getting caught in traffic. They also stressed the importance of following traffic rules to prevent further congestion.
