Mud Village is located at the very end of the Pin Valley in Spiti, Himachal Pradesh - quite literally where the road stops. It’s not big and certainly not famous, but that’s what maintains the charm of one of the calmest places to visit in Spiti Valley.

You drive through narrow mountain roads and cross rough patches that make you hold your breath. But, when you finally reach, the stillness hits you first, a kind of quiet you don’t get in most places anymore.

The Mud Village is really small, maybe 30 or 40 houses that are made from stone and mud plaster. But now tourism has also changed Mud Village and few homestays have also popped up here. But, don’t expect luxury, as the place is not developed yet provides the warmth that you need. Definitely, Mud village is not a place you to tick off a list while planning your Spiti tour, but stay a little longer than you planned and carry with you long after you have left.

In Ladakh, find the perfect blend of culture, adventure, and serenity. December last year I decided that my next trip would be Ladakh but didn’t know how to go about it. I knew I wanted to travel in a group, as I had prior experiences of traveling in a group but wanted an organiser I could trust. Ladakh isn’t like other destinations wherein you need some instructions due to the high altitudes.
