Noida airport operations starting June 15 mark the beginning of commercial flights, months after its inauguration. Travelers from Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, and East Delhi can now fly directly without driving to IGI Airport in Delhi.

Noida Airport Commercial Operations

IndiGo operates the first flight on the Lucknow–Noida route on June 15. Akasa Air and Air India Express are also confirmed to fly from Noida Airport.

DXN, Noida International Airport's IATA code, is now listed on Google Flights and other booking platforms. The DGCA aerodrome license to Noida Airport was granted on March 6, and the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security has since approved it for full operations.

IndiGo leads the launch with routes from Jewar to Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Amritsar, and Jammu. Akasa Air is also starting services from Noida Airport, while Air India Express is likely to add more routes as flights from Noida Airport pick up through 2026.

Route Map at Launch & Expansion Plans

Confirmed Initial Routes Expected from Jewar Airport: Phase 1

  1. South India Route - Bengaluru, Hyderabad
  2. West India Route - Mumbai, Amritsar
  3. North India Route- Jammu
  4. Central/East India Route - Lucknow

Why Noida Airport Matters for Delhi NCR, UP & Beyond

  • For Delhi's IGI Airport

DXN is expected to reduce passenger load at IGI by pulling traffic from Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, and East Delhi. Aviation analysts expect airlines to split domestic traffic between the two airports over time, with IGI focusing more on long-haul international flights.

  • For Uttar Pradesh

Western UP now has its own major aviation hub. Combined with the Yamuna Expressway, RRTS links, and planned rail connectivity, Noida Airport gives the region direct access to national flight networks—independently of Delhi.

  • For Real Estate & Urban Growth

New townships, logistics parks, warehousing projects, and commercial zones are already being developed along the Greater Noida–Jewar corridor. Land and development activity increases around new large airports, and the Jewar belt is already seeing that shift.

  • For Jobs & Industry

Airport operations, hospitality, transport, cargo, and logistics are expected to create significant direct and indirect jobs in the region over the next few years.

What Noida Airport Means for India's Top Tourist Circuits: Agra, Mathura & the Himalayas

1. Agra & the Golden Triangle (146 km from DXN)

Agra is roughly 146 km south of Jewar via the Yamuna Expressway. A traveler from Bengaluru or Mumbai landing at Noida Airport can now reach the Taj Mahal significantly faster than via Delhi's traditional airport route.

Previously, most travelers had to land at IGI Airport, navigate Delhi traffic, and then continue south toward Agra—adding several hours to the journey.

For anyone doing the Delhi–Agra–Jaipur circuit, Noida Airport is now the closer entry point into the Golden Triangle.

2. Vrindavan & Mathura (87–90 km from Noida Airport)

Mathura is around 90 km from Jewar, while Vrindavan is roughly 87 km away. Improved airport access is expected to benefit the wider Braj region, particularly during during high-traffic festivals like Janmashtami and Holi.

For pilgrims traveling from South and West India, DXN is now the nearest major airport to the Braj circuit.

3. The Himalayas: Dehradun, Rishikesh & Dharamshala (Faster Access)

As airlines expand route networks from Noida Airport, destinations like Dehradun and Dharamshala are widely expected to become important additions due to growing leisure demand for Himalayan travel.

Combined with projects like the Delhi–Dehradun Expressway, the broader North Indian mountain circuit becomes much easier to access for short-break travelers from cities like Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Mumbai.

Destinations like Mussoorie, Rishikesh, Chakrata, Kanatal, and McLeodganj will benefit from faster regional connectivity once routes go live.
