A key service road on National Highway 48 in Delhi has been shut down for repairs, resulting in traffic disruptions in Delhi-NCR. The Delhi Traffic Police say the closure affects the entire section between Dwarka Link Road junction and Mahipalpur Petrol Pump.

Drivers should expect delays and plan alternative routes, as the Delhi-Gurugram traffic disruption for two months seems to be challenging.

Travel Advisory And Alternate Routes

NH-48 Service Road – Repair Highlights

  • The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has started urgent repair work on a key service road of NH-48. The repairs are needed to prevent possible soil collapse, highlighting safety concerns in the area.
  • This closure will slow down traffic between Gurugram and Mahipalpur. Commuters heading to or from important areas like Vasant Kunj, IGI Airport, and Dhaula Kuan should expect delays.

Alternate Routes To Avoid Delhi-Gurugram Traffic

  • Take Mehrauli-Gurugram Road through the Aya Nagar Border.
  • Use Old Gurugram Road to Kapashera and then Samalkha Road.
  • Drive on the Gurugram-Dwarka Expressway to Yashobhoomi, Dwarka Sector 23 Crossing, Janki Chowk, Dwarka Sector 8/9 Crossing, T Point Sector 7, Ganpati Chowk, Dwarka Sector 7/9 Crossing, Sector 6/7 Crossing, Sector 1 Crossing, and take a right to Palam Flyover leading to Dhaula Kuan.
  • Dabri-Gurugram Road to Dwarka Flyover, then to Parade Road.
  • Another Option: Gurugram-Dwarka Expressway to Yashobhoomi, then Mahipalpur and Dhaula Kuan.
  • If you are driving to the IGI Airport or Delhi Railway Station, consider taking the Metro from Dwarka Sector-21 station on the Airport Express line.

The traffic disruption for two months in Delhi-NCR is expected to have a significant impact on daily commutes. Authorities advise all travellers to stay informed about the latest updates and plan their journeys accordingly.
