Authorities are working tirelessly to prevent this tourist hotspot from turning into a disaster zone.
As per reports only 30 days worth of water is left on this place which has led to a reduction in the number of tourists.Â
Water reserves such as Phru Na Mueang, Phuru Kraud, and Hin Lad Waterfall have seen a significant dip in their water levels.Â
With increasing number of tourists and no rainfalls, water conservation has become extremely difficult. Due to the on-going water crisis, Deputy Mayor Sutham Samthong has urged the locals to use the water carefully.Â
Koh Samui is a popular tourist spot and as per stats, it attracts 2.7 million tourists every year. The island is famous for many trekking trails, sandy beaches and jungle safaris but has seen a decline in visitors due to the on-going crisis.
