The Mansapurna Karni Mata Temple was built in the 17th century by a ruler Maharana Karan Singh. It is located on top of Machala Hill, making it hard for the people to reach the temple. To make the temple more accessible, a businessman named Kailash Khandelwal built Mansapurna Karni Mata Ropeway in 2008. This ropeway connects the temple to Deendayal Upadhyay Park down below. It was the first ropeway in Rajasthan that attracted visitors to Mansapurna Karni Mata Temple.
