Planning your next adventure? Big travel changes are rolling out this year! These new visa and entry rules 2025 aim to make your travels smoother and safer. Immigration authorities worldwide are modernising their systems to cut down on paperwork and waiting times while keeping security tight. Travel experts recommend getting familiar with these changes early to avoid any last-minute surprises.

Here’s what you need to know about the new visa changes for travelers 2025:

1. Thai E Visa Expansion

Getting a Thai visa is about to become much easier! Thailand is making a big move to let more travellers apply for visas online instead of visiting embassies in person. You can use a simple website to submit your application. Since many tourists from India visit Thailand, they’ll especially benefit from this new digital system. Remember to check Thailand’s official immigration website closer to your travel date for the most up-to-date requirements and instructions.

2. US Visa Changes 2025

If you have missed your visa appointment, you can reschedule it without any extra fees. This is especially helpful for tourists, students, and business travellers if something unexpected comes up, while the basic visa process and interview requirements remain the same. For anyone planning a US trip, this change means less stress about sticking to a fixed appointment schedule, making it easier to manage your travel plans.

3. Israel Launches Electronic Travel Authorisation

Starting January 1, 2025, Israel is rolling out a new way to welcome travellers with its ETA-IL system. If you’re from one of the 99 countries that don’t need a regular visa to visit Israel, you’ll now need to get a quick online approval before flying. Think of it as a digital check-in that you do from home —– no embassy visits needed. This new system aims to make entering Israel smoother and safer for everyone.

4. Tunisia’s New Visa Rules

Tunisia is tightening its entry requirements, saying goodbye to the days when European travellers could enter with just their ID cards on package holidays. Now, every visitor needs a passport with at least three months left before it expires. This shift brings Tunisia in line with standard international travel practices.

5. Cambodia Cuts Visa Fees

Good news for travellers heading to Cambodia in 2025; getting your visa just got cheaper! Starting January 1st, tourist visas are dropping from $36 to $30, while business visas are going down from $42 to $35. Cambodia hopes these lower prices will encourage more people to visit its famous temples and beautiful beaches.

6. UK Launches New Travel Permit

The UK is changing how visitors enter the country in 2025 with its new Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system. From January 8, travellers from visa-free countries outside Europe will need to apply for an ETA online before their trip. European visitors will need to do the same starting April 2, 2025.

7. Namibia’s New Rules For 31 Countries

Starting April 1, 2025, Namibia is changing its entry rules for visitors from 31 countries, including America, Canada, Belgium, and France. These country travellers, who could previously visit Namibia without a visa, will now need to apply for one online.  This marks a significant shift in how Namibia welcomes international visitors.

I did my first solo trip in India with WanderOn. Initially I was sceptical about their Meghalaya-Kaziranga trip as I didn't have any prior experience with them but the team assured me that it's going to be one of the best experiences of my life.

In Ladakh, find the perfect blend of culture, adventure, and serenity. December last year I decided that my next trip would be Ladakh but didn’t know how to go about it. I knew I wanted to travel in a group, as I had prior experiences of traveling in a group but wanted an organiser I could trust. Ladakh isn’t like other destinations wherein you need some instructions due to the high altitudes.

After an amazing trip to Tirthan with WanderOn, I decided to go to Manali-Jispa with them and yet again, the experience was worth every penny. The place was very beautiful and the quality of service was top-notch, the itinerary was very good and the quality of transportation and stays were very good. Had an awesome time there and made some good friends as well. Lastly, our trip captains Priyasha and Rachit managed the entire trip very well and were so fun and made our trip an experience worth remembering.
