Are you ready for an adventure in the “country of treasures”? Indonesia’s Labuan Bajo and the neighbouring archipelago, including Komodo National Park, are globally renowned. An essential stop on your island-hopping adventure is Padar Island, an exotic gem within the park. Skipping a visit to this slice of paradise would be a regrettable miss! So, if you are planning your vacation to the tropical island, then get your Bali tour packages booked now!

Padar Island is located between the Komodo and Rinca Islands, forming the National Park trinity. Padar Island being one of the best places to visit in Labuan Bajo is known for its stunning views from its green hills, which offer a great vantage point to admire the beautiful Bali beaches and magnificent sunsets of Bali from the highest points.

History of Padar Island

Padar Island, part of the Komodo National Park, shares its history with the region. The park was established in 1980 to protect the Komodo dragon and its habitat. Over time, the park has become a significant conservation area, preserving not only the dragons but also marine life and other wildlife. Padar Island was once inhabited by dragons, but they have since disappeared, possibly due to lack of prey.

Best Time to Visit Padar Island

The best time to visit Bali’s Padar Island is from April to June. This is after the rainy season is over, and the weather is warm and pleasant. Another good option is the dry season between September and December. However, keep in mind that July and August are during peak season when Padar Island becomes more crowded than usual.

How to Reach Padar Island

Getting to Padar Island can be a bit more difficult than reaching the top of the island’s hill. Many people visit Padar Island for a day trip from the nearby town of Labuan Bajo. It’s a good idea to join an organised island tour with an experienced guide. The best way to see the beautiful scenery and wildlife up close is by taking a cruise through Komodo National Park to discover all the hidden treasures.

In Ladakh, find the perfect blend of culture, adventure, and serenity. December last year I decided that my next trip would be Ladakh but didn’t know how to go about it. I knew I wanted to travel in a group, as I had prior experiences of traveling in a group but wanted an organiser I could trust. Ladakh isn’t like other destinations wherein you need some instructions due to the high altitudes.
