Each of the four temples has its own special god: Yamunotri honours Goddess Yamuna, Gangotri is for Goddess Ganga, Kedarnath worships Lord Shiva, and Badrinath is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. People travel from across the globe seeking peace and blessings at these holy places.
But here’s important news for pilgrims. These temples aren’t open year-round. They stay open for just six months and close during winter months. For those planning their trip, here are the 2024 closing dates for all four temples.
Gangotri’s doors will shut for winter on November 2, 2024, at 12:14 PM. Temple committee secretary Suresh Semwal says the Gangotri closing date 2024 will happen during the Annakoot festival, following age-old customs.
This temple to Goddess Yamuna closes on November 3, 2024, on Bhai Dooj. Priest Rawal Ashish Uniyal says they will set the exact closing time during Dussehra on October 12. The temple will welcome visitors again after winter ends.
Lord Vishnu’s shrine, Badrinath closing date 2024 will be on November 17, at 9:07 PM. This timing was picked on Vijayadashami day, following Hindu calendar traditions.
The famous Shiva temple in Garhwal Himalayas; Kedarnath closing date 2024 will be on November 3, at 8:30 AM sharp.
