blog-images
Taman Ujung Water Palace was constructed in 1909 during the reign of I Gusti Bagus Jelantik as the last king of Karangasem who holds the title of Anak Agung Anglurah Ketut Karangasem. The palace was built with the purpose of providing the royal family with a leisure and holiday environment. Major functions of it were also to entertain VIPs and officials. The architectural theme of Taman Ujung Water Palace is the combination of Balinese, Dutch and Portuguese architecture as the developing period of Bali in the early 1990 century was highly influenced by foreigners.

As much as it is a partially functional building, the palace suffered severe attacks by some natural disasters such as the Eruption of Mount Agung in 1963 and the 1979 earthquake. However, Taman Ujung has been renovated, which makes it one of the most attractive historical places in Bali.
