Sri Lanka Adventure Itinerary: 7-Day Thrilling Escape

Day 1: Arrive Colombo + Transfer to Kitulgala

Land in Colombo, drive to Kitulgala (2.5 hrs), a small rainforest town on the Kelani River, used as location for the 1957 film The Bridge on the River Kwai
Check in and rest.

Day 2: White Water Rafting In Kitulgala

Your Sri Lanka adventure trip starts with white water rafting on the Kelani River, 5 major rapids and 4 minor rapids, Grade 3–4, covering roughly 5 km downstream.
Optional afternoon activities: waterfall abseiling down the 105-ft Sandun Ella, jungle trekking through the Kelani Valley Forest Reserve
Drive to Ella (approx. 3.5 hrs). Check in and walk to Nine Arch Bridge at dusk.

Day 3: Hiking Day In Ella

1. White-Water Rafting, Kitulgala

The river runs Grade 2 to Grade 3 rapids, enough to get your heart going and manageable for first-timers with proper instruction.
