Leh Ladakh Summer Tour Packages

For the last 8 years, WanderOn has been running Leh-Ladakh tour packages in summer. Over 20,000 travelers so far, with a 4.9/5 rating that reflects actual trips. That kind of experience on the ground teaches you things no guidebook covers. Which pass opens first in June, which homestays in Nubra Valley actually serve homemade food, and why your first day in Leh should involve doing absolutely nothing.
Our Leh Ladakh tour packages for summer start at ₹18,499 per person and range from 6 to 11 days. Every package is fully customisable. Whether you want a quick summer trip to Leh Ladakh covering Pangong Lake and Khardung La Pass, or a longer Leh Ladakh summer itinerary that includes Tso Moriri, Nubra Valley, Turtuk, and the Manali to Leh highway, we build it around how you want to travel.
What 8 years and 20,000 travelers have taught us is that Ladakh in summer is not just about open roads and clear skies. It's about getting the acclimatization right so your body adjusts before you hit high passes. It's about knowing which routes work in early June versus late August. It's about having a trip captain who reads weather and terrain, not just follows GPS.
Pick your dates, choose your route, whether it's one of our Leh Ladakh bike trip packages or a cultural summer itinerary, and let our on-ground expertise handle the rest. Your summer starts here.

June: Our trip captains who have led thousands of Ladakh summer holiday packages call June the most reliable window. If it is your first Ladakh trip, this is the month we recommend without a second thought.
July: July is one of the busiest months in Ladakh and for good reason. Our captains time every Khardung La Pass crossing before noon. July mornings at the pass are the clearest of the season. Afternoons close in fast.
August: Eight years of August departures have taught us one thing: always build a buffer day. August has been the month most likely to experience weather-related disruptions on the Manali-Leh route.
September: Don’t let anyone fool you out of a Ladakh trip in September. Interestingly, most of our trip captains choose this month for their own summer trip to Leh Ladakh.

Best Places To Visit In Leh Ladakh In Summer

1. Pangong Tso

You must have seen Pangong Tso a hundred times in photos, but nothing prepares you for the first time you actually stand at the shore. The water changes colour right in front of you, from blue to green to violet. Go early in the morning to have the entire stretch to yourself.

2. Nubra Valley

Most people think Nubra Valley is just sand dunes and double-humped camels at Hunder. Although it is worth it, it is so much more than that. Drive through Diskit, stop at Diskit Monastery, and then take the road to Turtuk. It is one of the best additions to your family trip to Ladakh in summer.

3. Khardung La

Khardung La, one of the highest motorable passes in the world, sits at more than 17,000 feet. Twenty minutes at the top is enough, and our captains are strict about this and for good reason.

4. Turtuk Village

Most itineraries skip Turtuk for time. But you should insist on going, and once you reach there, you will know exactly why. Ask your homestay host for apricot jam made in-house; almost every family makes it in summer, and it never makes it to any shop. The apricot orchards in summer and the Balti food make our travelers say it was the part of the trip that nobody warned them about.

5. Hanle

Hanle sits at 4,500 metres and on a clear summer night the sky looks like something your brain has to stop to work to accept it as real. On a cloudless night between June and September, the Milky Way runs directly overhead.

6. Hemis Monastery

Hemis, the largest monastery in Ladakh, gets treated like a checklist by most tourists. Go in the morning when the monks are doing the prayers. One thing we recommend not missing out on in your Leh Ladakh group tour packages for summer is the Hemis Festival, which happens every June or July.

7. Tso Moriri

Most people treat Tso Moriri as an optional add-on, which is a big mistake. This lake should be a non-negotiable part of your Ladakh tour packages in summer, not just a bonus. This serene freshwater lake is home to unique migratory birds, which makes it a must-visit.

Best Things To Do In Ladakh In Summer

1. Ride Through Some Of The Highest Passes

If you are a biking enthusiast, then Ladakh has some of the best roads and passes to get your adrenaline pumping. Honestly, it is hard but the rewards are so worth it. Acclimatize properly and take precautions to avoid acute mountain sickness

2. Enjoy Summer Festivals In Ladakh

If you are in Leh Ladakh in summer, there can be no better timing to enjoy the regions’s vibrant festivals. While the Hemis Festival in June/July features cham dances, Ladakh Festival in September celebrates the local culture. Time your trip to participate in these festivals.

3. Take The Early Morning Shanti Stupa Trek

Everyone tells you to visit Shanti Stupa. But no one tells you when. Come at 5:30 AM and you’ll have the entire place to yourself. Sit inside for 10 minutes and actually watch how the light changes the Indus Valley below.

4. Indulge In The Thrill Of River Rafting

Don’t think of river rafting in Ladakh as an “activity to check off.” Rafting down the Indus or Zanskar River gives you a different perspective of Ladakh. We ensure you that the combination of adrenaline, cold water, and stunning views will stay with you long after the trip ends.

5. Spot Kiang On Changthang Plateau

In our experience, summer morning drives between Tso Moriri and the Changthang Plateau almost always turn up Kiang sightings. When you see a herd moving across the plateau, you understand what this landscape actually supports.

6. Eat With Homestay Families

When you eat at a restaurant, you taste the flavors, but when you eat with a local Ladakhi family, you taste the culture of Ladakh. Our travelers who eat this way say they finally understand Ladakh through taste.
