Best-Sellling Stockholm Tour Packages

Stockholm tour packages step travellers into Sweden's island-built capital, a city spread across 14 islands connected by 57 bridges and threaded with waterways that show up in almost every view. Gamla Stan holds the medieval heart of Stockholm with its cobblestone lanes and Stortorget Square, while the neighbouring islands of Djurgården and Skeppsholmen carry the Vasa Museum, palace grounds and modern art collections. WanderOn's Nordic circuits treat Stockholm as the natural western anchor of the Scandinavian sweep, pairing it with an overnight Baltic Sea sailing to Helsinki and, on longer routes, continuing into Norway's fjord country and Denmark's Copenhagen.
2 years of running Europe group departures have taken more than 2,000 travellers with us through the Nordic loop, from the Silja Line cabins crossing the Baltic to the guided walks through Gamla Stan. Our Europe tour packages place Stockholm inside multi-country Scandinavian journeys covering Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark on a single Schengen visa. That structure makes the Scandinavia tour package cost easier to plan against than piecing the same route together on your own.
Our 4.9/5 Google rating tells the story of what happens on the ground across these group trips, from the sunset sail past the Stockholm archipelago to the aurora chase evenings in Lapland. Have a look through our current Stockholm tour packages from India below and pick the Nordic route that lines up with your travel window.

Stockholm Tour Packages Cost from India

Here is a working breakdown of the Scandinavia tour package cost when Stockholm is part of your route, covering on-ground spend, sightseeing rates, the Baltic cruise and flights.

Meals₹2,500–₹5,000/day
Local transport (metro, tram, bus day pass)₹700–₹1,300/day
Sightseeing and attractions₹1,300–₹2,200/entry
Archipelago ferry (half-day return)₹2,500–₹4,500
Silja Line Baltic cruise (Stockholm to Helsinki, cabin)₹8,000–₹18,000/cabin
Schengen visa₹10,000
Travel insurance*₹800–₹3,000/trip
International return flights₹60,000–₹1,20,000+
Stockholm tour package cost₹1.70 lakh–₹3.30 lakh+
*Insurance is worth budgeting at the trip level rather than daily. Cruise cabin rates are per cabin, not per person.
Sweden runs on the Swedish Krona (SEK) rather than the Euro, which is worth flagging for travellers used to a single currency across Schengen. Cards work almost everywhere, but a small SEK cash buffer is useful for tram tickets and market stalls.

What your Stockholm trip covers

Embedded media
Every WanderOn Stockholm tour package covers the city through a guided sightseeing structure, with specific attractions varying by departure. Here is what is actually delivered on the ground.

1. Gamla Stan and the Old Town walk

The Stockholm gamla stan tour is included across every WanderOn Stockholm departure and it is the heart of what travellers come to see. The walk moves through Stortorget Square, past the Royal Palace and the Stockholm Cathedral, and along narrow cobblestone alleys where 14th-century buildings still house small boutiques, cafés and restaurants. Standout

2. Vasa Museum, Djurgården and the Nordic Museum

The Vasa Museum sits on Djurgården island and is built around the 1628 warship Vasa, which sank on its maiden voyage after sailing barely a nautical mile and was recovered from the harbour bed 333 years later, remarkably intact. The Vasa Museum entry is included on select WanderOn Stockholm departures alongside the SkyView Globen ride, which lifts travellers to the top of the world's largest spherical building for panoramic views across the city. The Nordic Museum entry, covering Nordic history, culture and Scandinavian traditions, is built into most WanderOn Stockholm itineraries.

3. Stockholm City Hall and the Fjällgatan viewpoint

Stockholm City Hall is the venue for the Nobel Prize banquet held every December and is covered on select departures either as a drive-past on the city tour or as a guided visit with historical context around the Blue Hall and the Golden Hall. The Fjällgatan viewpoint, included on the guided Stockholm city tour on select packages, opens up the postcard shot of Stockholm spread across its 14 islands, with Lake Mälaren on one side and the Baltic Sea on the other.

4. The Stockholm archipelago by ferry

The Stockholm archipelago covers more than 30,000 islands stretching east from the city into the Baltic, and it is one of the world's largest archipelagos. WanderOn's current Stockholm departures do not include a dedicated archipelago ferry day trip, though the Silja Line cruise from Stockholm to Helsinki does sail through the outer archipelago as it heads east.

Stockholm, Helsinki and Copenhagen: the Scandinavia circuit

Embedded media
The Stockholm Helsinki cruise is one of the signature moments of any Scandinavia trip from India, and it is what makes the Stockholm-Helsinki combination work so cleanly on a single visa. The cruise saves a domestic flight and turns a transit day into a genuine experience.
WanderOn's four live Stockholm-inclusive routes take different paths through Scandinavia. The Nordic backpacking and community tours run Stockholm into Helsinki by Baltic cruise, then continue by train to Rovaniemi for Lapland's Arctic Circle and Northern Lights. The New Year edition adds Tromsø in Arctic Norway at the end. The Best of Scandinavia route runs the opposite direction, opening in Helsinki, cruising to Stockholm for a guided sightseeing day, then coach travel through Sweden into Oslo, Bergen and Denmark's Copenhagen. Whichever way you go, one Schengen visa covers the full circuit.

Best time to visit Stockholm

Embedded media
Stockholm sits on the same latitude as southern Alaska, so the seasonal daylight swing is dramatic. Midsummer brings 18-hour days with sunlight lasting past 10pm, while December runs on roughly six hours of daylight. The best time to visit Stockholm depends on which version of Sweden fits your trip plan.
SeasonMonthsAvg TemperatureWhat's happeningBest for
SpringApr–May4°C to 15°CCity reopens after winter, outdoor cafés returnSightseeing, shoulder pricing, comfortable weather
SummerJun–Aug15°C to 23°CPeak daylight, archipelago at full activity, midsummer festivalsBaltic cruises, summer in Europe circuits, long-day sightseeing
AutumnSep–Oct5°C to 14°CGolden foliage, harvest season, quieter cityPhotography, cultural travel, lighter crowds
WinterNov–Feb-5°C to 2°CChristmas markets, snow-covered rooftops, festive lightsGamla Stan Christmas markets, Northern Lights via Rovaniemi routes
May through early September is the best time to visit Stockholm only, with long daylight, active harbours and the archipelago at its best. December is beautiful but genuinely dark, so travellers heading during that window usually pair Stockholm with the Nordic circuit routes north into Lapland where the aurora becomes the reason for the short daylight.

Visa and documents for Stockholm

Sweden is part of the Schengen Area, so Indian travellers heading to Stockholm apply for a Schengen visa rather than a Sweden-specific one. The visa clears you for Sweden along with every other Schengen country on the same route, valid for stays of up to 90 days across any rolling 180-day period. Applications submit through VFS Global centres in India and need a passport with a minimum of two blank pages and six months of remaining validity, hotel and itinerary confirmations, financial documentation (bank statements, ITR filings), and travel medical insurance covering emergencies, hospitalisation and repatriation to a minimum of €30,000.
The complete step-by-step process, document list and appointment guidance are in our Europe visa for Indians resource. Also worth reading before you travel are the EES entry rules for Europe explainer and the travel insurance for Europe breakdown.
EES update: the Entry/Exit System went live at all Schengen borders on 10 April 2026. This replaced manual passport stamping with a biometric border-crossing record for non-EU short-stay travellers. The Schengen visa is still what clears you to travel, and EES sits alongside it as the border data capture.
