EES update: the Entry/Exit System went live at all Schengen borders on 10 April 2026. This replaced manual passport stamping with a biometric border-crossing record for non-EU short-stay travellers. The Schengen visa is still what clears you to travel, and EES sits alongside it as the border data capture.
