Every biker has that one trip they've been talking about for years. The one with roads so good that nobody cared about reaching the destination. The one where chai breaks lasted longer than planned, every curve revealed a new view, and the ride itself became the highlight. That's exactly the feeling our Meghalaya Bike Trip Packages are built around.
For a lot of riders, that trip is Meghalaya.
The catch? Great bike trips don't just happen. Routes need planning, stays need sorting, backup support needs to be in place, and someone has to know which roads are worth riding and which aren't. That's where we come in.
Starting at just ₹25,999, our bike packages like  7-Day Meghalaya Bike Trip with Kaziranga takes care of the logistics so you can focus on the ride.

Over seven days, you'll cover the icons of Meghalaya tourism—Shillong, Dawki, Cherrapunji, and the legendary roads connecting them—before heading towards Kaziranga, one of India's most celebrated wildlife destinations.
Over the last 7+ years, we've operated 2,000+ departures and hosted more than 5,000 travellers across the Northeast. Every bike departure is led by a dedicated trip captain/bike marshal and backed by a 24×7 operations team, ensuring help is always available when you need it.
But ask anyone who's done the trip what they remember most, and chances are it won't be a particular attraction.
It'll be the roads.
Some Meghalaya tour packages show you the destination. This one lets you experience the journey.
Book your Meghalaya Bike Trip Packages now and ride into Meghalaya the way it’s meant to be explored.

The Ultimate 6N/7D Meghalaya Bike Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Guwahati to Kaziranga

Pick up your bikes in Guwahati, meet the group and Trip Captain, and ride out toward Kaziranga. The road takes you through tea gardens and small Assamese villages. Check into your hotel and unwind for the evening. Your bike trip to Meghalaya starts here.

Day 2: Kaziranga Safari & Ride to Shillong

Early morning jeep safari inside Kaziranga National Park, a key highlight of our Meghalaya adventure tour packages, where you'll spot rhinos, elephants, deer, and plenty of birdlife in the open grasslands. After breakfast, ride toward Shillong as the landscape shifts from Assam's plains to Meghalaya's winding hill roads.

Day 3: Shillong to Shnongpdeng via Laitlum Canyon & Phe Phe Falls

Ride to Laitlum Grand Canyon for wide valley views, then stop at Phe Phe Waterfalls hidden in the greenery. End the day at Shnongpdeng village, right next to the crystal-clear Umngot River. Dinner with locals by the riverside.

Day 4: Shnongpdeng to Cherrapunji via Mawlynnong

Morning water activities on the Umngot, including boating, cliff jumping, and swimming. Then continue your Meghalaya biking tour through forest-lined roads to Mawlynnong, Asia's cleanest village. Explore the village at your own pace before riding through misty green landscapes towards Cherrapunji for the night.

Day 5: Double Decker Living Root Bridge Trek

Ride to Tyrna village and trek down to the Single and Double Decker Living Root Bridges. Spend time at the bridge, soak it in, then climb back up. Ride back to Cherrapunji for dinner and rest.

Day 6: Cherrapunji to Shillong via Mawsmai Cave, Nohkalikai & Wei Sawdong Falls

Explore Mawsmai limestone caves, stop at Nohkalikai Falls (one of India's tallest), and then visit Wei Sawdong Falls for something quieter. Ride back to Shillong and spend the evening exploring Police Bazaar for local food and shopping.

Day 7: Shillong to Guwahati & Departure

Final ride back to Guwahati via Umiam Lake. Return your bikes and head to the airport or station for your journey home. Your Meghalaya bike tour wraps up where it started.

How are the Road and Terrain Conditions in Meghalaya?

The bike trip to Meghalaya is beautiful but not exactly relaxing. Main highways are smooth, the scenery is unreal, but the hills demand your full attention. Here's what to expect:
Road Quality
  • National Highways: Well-maintained, smooth tarmac with sweeping curves. The Guwahati to Shillong stretch on NH 6 is a great ride.
  • Roads Between Major Towns: Shillong to Cherrapunji, Cherrapunji to Dawki, these are generally well-paved but narrow down to tight two-lane mountain passes.
  • Remote Village Roads: Anything branching off toward hidden waterfalls or living root bridges can turn into gravel, broken tarmac, or straight-up dirt tracks.
What the Riding Actually Feels Like
  • Constant hairpin turns and blind corners. Stay left, honk before bends, and never assume the other side is clear. Local taxis come around fast.
  • Steep climbs and drops. You need solid clutch control and the confidence to restart a loaded bike on an uphill slope without rolling back.
  • Trucks everywhere on the highways. Coal and limestone trucks share the road, and overtaking them takes patience and timing.
Weather You'll Ride Through
  • Fog rolls in without warning. Meghalaya is literally called the "Abode of Clouds." Visibility can drop to almost nothing within minutes, especially around Cherrapunji.
  • Rain is always possible. Even outside monsoon, sudden downpours make the tarmac slippery, especially on steep downhill sections where traction drops fast.
  • Loose debris and minor landslides. Heavy rain washes mud and rocks onto cliffside roads. You won't always see it coming around a corner.
Most bike tour packages in Meghalaya stick to the better-maintained routes, but even those have enough twists, climbs, and weather surprises to keep the ride interesting. A Meghalaya biking tour isn't about speed. It's about staying alert, reading the road, and enjoying every turn you survive.

Documents You Need for a Meghalaya Bike Tour

For travellers booking Meghalaya tour packages from Lucknow or any other city, checkpoints are common at the Assam–Meghalaya border and near Dawki, so keep everything handy.
Rider Credentials
  • Original driving license (MCWG category). Digilocker works in most places but carry the physical card for remote areas.
  • Foreign nationals need their passport, domestic license, and a valid International Driving Permit.
Tourist Registration
  • Register on the official Meghalaya Tourism App before entry and download your E-Invite QR code. It gets scanned at the Umling Entry Point.
  • Keep your hotel booking vouchers ready since you'll need them to generate the E-Invite.
Vehicle Documents
If you're on Meghalaya bike trip packages, your operator should provide these. If riding your own bike, carry them yourself:
  • Registration Certificate (RC)
  • Valid insurance policy
  • Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate
  • Rental agreement or NOC from the vendor if it's a rented bike
Personal ID & Health
  • Physical government photo ID (Aadhaar, Passport, or Voter ID)
  • 4 to 6 passport-size photos for any local permits needed on the go
  • A copy of your health insurance and a small card with your blood group, emergency contacts, and known allergies
Quick Tip
Store everything in a waterproof zip-lock pouch inside your jacket or tank bag. Document checks happen rain or shine, and wet paper at a checkpoint is a headache you don't need.

What Every Rider Should Pack for Meghalaya : WanderOn Checklist

For travellers booking Meghalaya tour packages from Nagpur or any other city, packing right makes a huge difference—because pack wrong and you'll feel it on every ride.
Rain Gear
  • A proper two-piece waterproof rain suit. Cheap plastic ponchos won't survive mountain winds.
  • Waterproof riding gloves. Regular leather or mesh ones take forever to dry once soaked.
  • Waterproof boot covers are secured with zip-ties so they don't flap against the exhaust.
  • Line your bags with thick garbage bags and keep electronics and documents in ziplock pouches.
Riding Safety
  • Full-face helmet with a clear visor. Tinted visors are dangerous here because of thick fog and early darkness.
  • All-weather riding jacket and pants with a removable thermal liner. You'll need ventilation in Guwahati and insulation in Cherrapunji.
  • Ankle-length riding boots for gravel and muddy village paths.
  • A balaclava or neck warmer for cold, damp rides through cloud cover.
Electronics
  • 20,000mAh+ power bank. Cold temperatures drain phone batteries fast.
  • Waterproof phone mount for your handlebars.
  • Download the full Meghalaya map offline before leaving Guwahati. Network drops in valleys like Dawki and Shnongpdeng.
Off-Bike Clothing
  • Quick-dry polyester tees. Cotton holds sweat and makes you cold.
  • A light fleece or hoodie for campfire evenings.
  • Trekking shoes if you're hiking to the root bridges or caves.
  • Microfiber towel. Dries way faster than cotton in this humidity.
First Aid & Cash
  • Motion sickness meds and basic pain relievers. Those hairpin bends get to people.
  • Carry ₹5,000 to ₹7,000 in cash. Small fuel stops, village dhabas, and entry fees don't accept UPI out here.
